Company Description Mission Eye Care is a full-service optometry clinic in Calgary, located in the Holy Cross Centre just south of downtown. The clinic has a team of six optometrists and over 20 support staff including opticians, technicians and patient care coordinators. We are actively seeking qualified applicants with experience in medical or optometry patient care scheduling and clinic operations. Role Description The Medical Receptionist position is a full-time, on-site role that oversees the front desk operations, including managing patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, and handling phone, email, and in-person patient care. It supports patient flow for multiple optometrists, and maintains accurate patient records in clinic systems. The Medical reception manager position also includes supervising reception staff, monitoring systems, ensuring patient satisfaction and service recovery, managing wait times, and aligning reception processes with clinic policies and privacy requirements. The role also involves collaborating with clinical and optical teams, assisting with billing and insurance processing, and contributing to continuous improvements in workflow and patient experience. Qualifications Strong customer-focused skills, including Customer Service and a commitment to delivering a positive patient experience. Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, clinicians, and team members. Proficiency in Receptionist Duties, such as managing multi-line phones, scheduling, appointment reminders, and patient intake. Solid Organization Skills, including time management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinic environment. Previous experience in medical, ophthalmology, or optometry reception, clinic administration, or healthcare customer service Comfort using practice management or electronic health record systems and learning new software Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to train, support, and coordinate reception staff.
