Job summary

The Courtesy Clerk is responsible for providing exceptional member service and assisting customers with carrying out grocery items. They must also perform housekeeping duties and ensure all department tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities will include: * Providing exceptional member service * Operating and maintaining equipment in a safe and responsible manner * Timely completion of all department tasks * Assisting members and customers with carrying out grocery items in a safe, courteous manner * Delivering exceptional customer service * Performing housekeeping duties when required * Wearing all personal protective equipment as per Evergreen Co-op policies * Adhering to all Evergreen Co-op safety policies and procedures * Being comfortable with working indoors and outdoors, and changing environments frequently * All other duties as assigned * This position requires a significant amount of standing, walking, lifting, bending, and twisting We are ideally seeking candidates with the following qualifications: * Previous retail experience with knowledge of grocery/food products is an asset * Self motivated, reliable, responsible, friendly and hard working * Ability to handle multiple demands at once while still providing excellent customer service * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Commitment to cooperative values and principles * Possesses a sense of urgency, and customer first attitude * Ability to be physically active with lifting up to 50 lbs is required, as well as, a good portion of the day doing static positions Evergreen Co‐operative Association is here to serve our members and customers with products and services that help build, feed, and fuel individuals and communities.
