The firm handles real estate, business law, litigation, wills & estates. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Trust Accounting Clerk to join our team. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of the Law Society of British Columbia’s trust accounting rules and regulations. It is full-time in office (9am – 5pm) opportunity that would suit someone who enjoys working independently while ensuring accuracy, compliance and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with client funds and financial information. Duties To Include But Are Not Limited To Preparing and managing trust account transactions (deposits, withdrawals, cheques), including wire transfers. Maintain accurate trust accounting records and client ledgersPerform regular trust account and bank reconciliations. Monitoring PTT withdrawals and posting accordingly Ensure all trust transactions are properly recorded, supported, and authorized. Prepare Trust Administration Fee remittances & Annual Trust Reports Monitoring outstanding trust cheques, following up with stale dated cheques and inactive trust amounts Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. Ensure compliance with the Law Society of British Columbia trust accounting requirements. Assisting the accounting team with other duties as needed The Successful Candidate Will Have Two years previous experience in trust accounting, legal accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role. The ability to work accurately and efficiently in a busy environment. Strong computer skills and experience with Esilaw software is preferred. The ability to work independently while being a supportive team member. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. Previous experience in a BC law firm and familiarity with Law Society of BC trust accounting requirements will be considered a strong asset.
