Job summary
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES This incumbent is accountable for receiving and verifying written information on purchase orders, as well as ensuring that the appropriate back up documentation is attached to all orders. This incumbent is responsible for confirming that all purchase orders contain the necessary codes, as well as entering purchase order information into the operating system so that the order can be processed. In addition, this position is responsible for the accurate entry of “Change Orders”, that are submitted for processing against an order file. SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES 1) This incumbent is accountable for verifying the accuracy of all information on a purchase order, as well as ensuring that the manual or electronic transfer of the purchase order into the operating system is accurate in order to generate a complete acknowledgement form. 2) This position is responsible for accurately entering all orders into the operating system in a timely and efficient manner. 3) This incumbent is accountable for ensuring that the bill of materials, for all special products, include a current Price Request, as well as a proper manufacturing drawing if required. 4) This position is responsible for assisting other team members with any order entry or procedure related questions. 5) This incumbent is accountable for processing all customer orders consistent with the internal procedures outlined in Teknion’s Internal Operations Manual. 6) This incumbent is responsible for processing changes to original orders, at customers request. 7) This incumbent is responsible for providing reports and statistical information on order entry related issues. QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Post secondary education or equivalent experience. • Must have previous Data entry experience with both Alpha and Numeric coding. • General office experience • Excellent keyboard skills are a necessity (Speed and Accuracy) • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills • Detail oriented • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment that is deadline oriented • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Computer literate, including word processing, spread sheet programs, e-mail, MRP system, and network usage • Knowledge of the office furniture industry, or the manufacturing environment is an asset • Excellent product knowledge QUANTITATIVE DATA 1. Process a minimum of 150 orders per a week. 2. Enter a minimum of 4500 line items per a week. 3. Process a minimum of 75 Change Orders per a week. The expected base salary range for this position $46,000 - $56,000. Final base salary offers will reflect an assessment of the selected candidate's skills, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to our internal pay equity framework.
