Job summary
Our client, a well-established Vancouver law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join their team. This is an opportunity to work closely with a busy litigation lawyer and play an important role in keeping files, deadlines, and client matters moving forward. The ideal candidate is an experienced Litigation LAA who is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing a busy practice with competing priorities. Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative support across a busy litigation practice Maintain and organize active files, ensuring correspondence, pleadings, evidence, and other documentation are accurately managed Draft, format, revise, and transcribe legal correspondence, court documents, and other materials Coordinate examinations for discovery, mediations, trials, client meetings, and other litigation-related appointments Manage limitation dates, deadlines, appointments, and follow-ups through an effective BF system Assist with the opening, maintenance, closing, and archiving of files throughout the litigation lifecycle Prepare billing documentation and monitor outstanding accounts, including monthly and quarterly billing follow-up Communicate professionally with clients, counsel, service providers, and other external contacts as required Support the lawyer with day-to-day practice management and ensure outstanding tasks and deadlines are followed up on Provide general administrative and team support as needed within the litigation group What We’re Looking For 5+ years of litigation experience Strong understanding of litigation procedures, documentation, and file management Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple matters and meet tight deadlines Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with Elite 3E or similar legal billing systems is an asset Professional, discreet, and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills Compensation & Benefits $65,000–$85,000, based on experience and qualifications Health and dental benefits, and RRSP matching Employee Assistance Program 3 weeks’ vacation to start, plus personal and sick days Fitness and lifestyle reimbursement, education reimbursement Team events and employee appreciation initiatives
