ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT: The Mechanical Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Rail Mechanical Division. MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Organize, file, archive, and dispose of documents according to procedures. Upload and maintain documents in SharePoint. Prepare and update reports, logs, checklists, and employee training records. Maintain office supplies. Perform general office duties, including photocopying and faxing. Perform accurate and timely data entry. Process invoices, payroll corrections, employee advances, and expense claims. Enter and track work orders, parts, and supplies. Create, post, and maintain union vacancy bulletins for Cochrane and outlying locations. Follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage. Participate in required training and development activities. REQUIREMENTS: Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or General Education Diploma (GED) 1 to 2 years of clerical-related work experience, including: Typing correspondence Data entry Filing, organizing and safekeeping of files and documents Customer service Proficient in the use of computers, software applications, and systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) Strong organizational and planning skills Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong attention to detail Commitment to health and safety APPLICATION PROCESS: The successful candidate will need to pass the following clearances: criminal record check, employment references and education verification.
