The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor. The position processes, audits, and reconciles all payroll operations/transactions for MnDOT’s Central Office. The position also processes employee business expenses, audits, and reconciliations in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling payroll labor distributions and researching, calculating, coding, tracking, and processing various transactions for human resources and payroll. The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment. Minimum Qualifications Skills in analyzing, interpreting, reconciling, and preparing financial information, records, and reports; identify errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems. Skills in basic accounting procedures sufficient to complete forms and documents that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and maintain accurate and complete financial records. Ability to interpret and explain accounting and related fiscal policies, procedures, and practices to customers. Skills in expense reporting sufficient to use a computerized accounting system such as SEMA4. Ability to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data. Skill in using advanced spreadsheets features such as formula creation to manipulate and sort data. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing high-volume transactional workloads with deadlines and high accuracy. Experience interpreting and applying bargaining agreements/plans, payroll policies, and internal control procedures to ensure payroll and fiscal processing compliance. Experience supporting audit compliances and internal control reviews of fiscal operations.
