Job summary
The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba. The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Administrative Coordinator position within our Chief Operating Office located at 150 Henry Avenue in Winnipeg, MB. Job Duties/Competencies: * Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; * Provide administrative support and ensure smooth day-to-day departmental operations; * Prepare, review, and edit correspondence, briefing notes, reports, and presentations; * Manage complex calendars, meetings, briefings, events, and appointments; * Coordinate meeting preparation, including agendas, materials, minutes, and follow-up actions; * Anticipate scheduling and logistical needs and proactively resolve challenges; * Coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, and related logistics; * Organize, scan, photocopy, distribute, and file departmental documents and records. * Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy filing, tracking, and record-keeping systems.; * Order office supplies, process purchase orders, and allocate expenses according to budget. Skills and Qualifications: * Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Administrative Assistant or related field; * Minimum 3 years’ of experience in an Administrative role, experience in government is considered an asset; * Experience in a computerized office environment with a proven ability with Microsoft Office; * Demonstrated ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations; * Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities with frequent changes and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment; * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; * Strong analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills; * Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet evolving priorities; * Experience working for a not-for-profit organization, boards and committees is considered an asset; * Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and, * Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
