About the role

Your Opportunity:

This position is casual and intended to provide relief coverage for regular staff during periods of absence, including vacation, illness, and other approved leaves. Successful candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule and respond to short-notice shift opportunities when possible. Hours of work will fluctuate according to operational needs and are not guaranteed.

Description:

As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with established guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicate frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantities of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs. Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly read, write and understand instructions. Ability to effectively interact with staff, customers and vendors at all levels. Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Oracle, with accurate data entry skills. Solid mathematical skills for concise and accurate calculations. Recent experience in a warehouse, inventory, or hospital warehouse environment. Flexibility to work statutory holidays and covers shifts between Leduc and Devon Hospitals.
