Role Description The Operations & Purchasing Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Stonewall, MB. This role supports daily purchasing activities, including preparing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate records in internal systems. The position assists operations by monitoring inventory levels, organizing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring product and material availability for customer orders. The role involves regular communication with internal teams and vendors to resolve discrepancies, confirm delivery timelines, and support continuous process improvement. Basic CAD skills would be beneficial for reviewing drawings, updating simple layouts, and assisting with product and equipment specifications. Qualifications Strong understanding of Purchasing Processes and Purchasing, with the ability to follow established procedures and support process improvements. Experience creating, managing, and reconciling Purchase Orders within ERP or similar systems. Knowledge of Procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and evaluating options for cost, quality, and delivery. Effective Communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and logistics partners. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple orders, timelines, and documentation. Basic CAD skills (e.g., reading and editing simple drawings) are beneficial. Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word, email) and comfort learning new systems. Previous experience in operations, purchasing, or supply chain, ideally within agriculture, manufacturing, or distribution, is an asset. Ability to work on-site in Stonewall, MB, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
