About the role
Simply Retrofits is seeking a professional, confident, and highly organized Events & Executive Business Development Associate to work directly with our CEO. This is not a traditional administrative or promotional role. You will serve as the CEO's event and business development associate, assisting with networking, introductions, relationship building, and follow-up at business events, meetings, and conferences across the GTA. Our companies operate in the energy, lighting, solar, artificial intelligence, and technology sectors, providing exposure to a broad range of industries and business opportunities. The position will initially involve approximately one event per week, with the potential for additional assignments as our business expands.
Responsibilities Accompany the CEO to business meetings, networking events, conferences, trade shows, and community events. Help initiate conversations and introductions with prospective clients and strategic partners. Assist in building relationships with business owners, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, community leaders, government officials, and elected representatives. Represent the company professionally at public and private events. Identify potential business opportunities and strategic contacts. Take organized notes during meetings and conversations. Collect and organize contact information. Prepare follow-up notes and action items after meetings and events. Assist with scheduling and coordinating follow-up meetings when required.
Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Professional appearance and polished presentation. Comfortable approaching and speaking with new people. Confident in professional networking environments. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Able to maintain discretion and professionalism. Reliable and available for occasional evening and weekend events. Access to reliable transportation within the GTA is an asset. Experience in business development, events, hospitality, executive support, sales, marketing, public relations, or customer relations is an asset but not required.
Compensation $27 per hour Four-hour minimum per event. Approved parking and travel expenses reimbursed where applicable.
