About the role

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Collections, the Page is responsible for shelving of library material, shelf maintenance and performance of a variety of clerical tasks, and helps to ensure the materials are organized and accessible.

Job Requirements

  • Formal academic training at an elementary level (i.e. high school).

  • Working knowledge of word processing applications (i.e. Microsoft Office – Word)

  • Experience in a public library environment would be beneficial.

  • Ability to push/pull library cart and lift and carry library materials and equipment up to 50 lbs approximately.

  • Ability to push and pull full book carts.

  • Ability to bend and reach.

  • Excellent skill in alphabetizing and mathematical ability and ability to learn library filing system.

  • Willingness to learn and take direction.

  • Ability to work as a team member and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety procedures.

  • Availability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and Saturdays and Sundays as required.
