About the role

Term of App't: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week

Start date: Immediately

Location: Any NLC Campus

Reporting to: Associate Registrar, Enrolment Services

Salary

Classification 10 $27.96- $28.83 per hour in accordance with the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees are provided with an additional $0.58/hour in lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay, for all regular hours worked.

Description

The Admissions Assistant provides administrative and customer service support to applicants, prospective students, and the Admissions team throughout the admissions process. This position is responsible for processing applications and supporting documentation, maintaining accurate student records, verifying document completeness and authenticity, preparing applicant files for review, and producing admissions-related communications.

The Admissions Assistant participates in preliminary reviews of applicant information to assess eligibility against established admission requirements.

Working collaboratively with departments across the College, the Admissions Assistant helps connect applicants with relevant services and supports a positive, efficient admissions experience. The position also contributes to the ongoing improvement of admissions procedures, processes, and communications.

This position is backfilling for a temporary vacancy until return of incumbent.

Qualifications

Required:

One year of post-secondary education in Business Administration or Office Administration. A related field may be considered. Two years of related administrative experience in a customer service-focused environment. Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures and organizational guidelines. Demonstrated experience providing information and support to clients, students, or the public while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience reviewing and processing documentation and maintaining accurate records. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred

Experience working in a post-secondary education environment. Experience using student information systems, records management systems, and electronic document management systems. Knowledge of post-secondary admissions processes, registration procedures, and admission requirements.
