Shipping/Receiving Prime Lab Management Specialist Organization/Group: As stockroom and inventory management technician you will be responsible for helping to manage the TEAL stockroom including shipping, receiving test equipment, inventory management, maintenance of equipment and materials, including equipment repairs and calibration while maintaining and ensuring timely updates and data accuracy in Ciena Assets Tracking System (CATS). In this role the successful candidate might be required to also purchase stockroom material and specialized equipment required for supporting Test Engineering NPI lab activities and manufacturing of Ciena products across various Ciena Labs and Contract Manufactures globally Location: This position is located at Ottawa main Campus Responsibilities: Performs stockroom duties including receiving, equipment on boarding, put-away equipment, stock rotation, cycle counts Maintain accurate inventory, assuring properly identified parts, consolidation of inventory in line with operational needs for building test stations and management of spare inventory Ensures that all required equipment is appropriately tagged, inventory and managed within Ciena Assets Tracking System (CATS). Manage and process material and equipment shipments to and from Montreal location Supports equipment shipping/receiving as well as equipment on boarding at Contract Manufacture sites when required. Supports and manage shipping and receiving of equipment between Ciena Test Engineering and R&D for NPI activities, including processing and updates in GEMS. Supports processing equipment for repairs and calibrations, including updating calibration certificates locally and supporting contract manufactures. Works closely with the Ciena logistics team to support processing of international and domestic shipments including B13, CERS documents and packing lists Delivers shipment orders to end users. Manages and orders lab material and consumables for general test engineering consumptions, including getting quotes from vendor and processing them through Credit Card and Oracle order through JIRA. Follows all defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, Health and Safety and work instructions. Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team. Communicates with manager of any customer issues or potential process problems Qualifications for the Inventory Specialist include, but not limited to: Warehouse experience Must be able to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 75 lbs Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
