Customer Service Representative-Inside Counter Sales
About the role
Clean Spot Calgary is looking for a Customer Service Representative for Inside Counter Sales to support our walk-in customers and day-to-day customer inquiries. This role is highly customer-facing and retail focused, helping customers identify the right cleaning, janitorial, sanitation, and equipment-related products for their needs while also supporting phone and email inquiries, order entry, quotes, and administrative follow-up. The successful candidate will provide knowledgeable, friendly service, complete over-the-counter sales, and work closely with Bunzl’s internal teams including sales, service, procurement, warehouse, shipping, and management to ensure customer needs are met.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
Greet and assist walk-in customers at the retail counter, providing knowledgeable product guidance and a positive customer experience. Recommend cleaning, janitorial, sanitation, paper, chemical, and equipment-related products based on customer needs. Process over-the-counter sales accurately, including order entry, invoicing, and related transaction support. Answer customer inquiries by phone and email in an efficient, professional, and timely manner. Enter orders accurately into the system, ensuring details are complete and communicating with appropriate internal teams as needed. Support customers using the online ordering eCommerce system and assist with order confirmation. Provide simple quotes, follow up on back orders and special orders, and keep customers informed of order status. Maintain current knowledge of promotions, product availability, and commonly requested items to support retail sales opportunities. Assist with merchandising awareness and keeping the customer-facing counter area organized, professional, and ready to serve walk-in customers. Provide administrative support to the sales team and complete related customer service duties as required. Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively in a team environment.
Requirements
Minimum 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a retail, counter sales, showroom, or customer-facing environment. Experience selling or supporting cleaning, janitorial, sanitation, safety, industrial, or related products is considered an asset. Comfortable assisting walk-in customers, identifying customer needs, and recommending appropriate products or solutions. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide professional service in person, by phone, and by email. Consultative selling skills and the ability to build customer confidence through product knowledge and helpful service. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and follow up carefully on customer requests. Strong problem-solving, administrative, and organizational skills. Fast learner with initiative, a positive attitude, and a willingness to develop product knowledge. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Windows-based software. Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
