Citadel Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking an experienced and professional Dental Receptionist to join our team full-time in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, is highly organized, patient-focused, and confident managing the day-to-day flow of a busy surgical practice. We are specifically seeking candidates with previous dental office experience who already understand dental terminology, scheduling workflows, and patient coordination within a dental or oral surgery environment.
About the Role
As a Dental Receptionist, you will play a key role in creating a positive and professional experience for patients while supporting the overall efficiency of clinic operations. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Manage a high-volume phone line and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule and coordinate consultations, surgeries, and follow-up appointments
- Confirm appointments and manage schedule flow throughout the day
- Process patient paperwork, referrals, and documentation
- Coordinate with clinical staff and doctors regarding patient scheduling and care
- Support patient billing, payments, insurance coordination, and administrative tasks
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all patient interactions
Qualifications Required:
- Previous experience working in a dental office is mandatory
- Strong understanding of dental scheduling, terminology, and clinic workflow
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience in oral surgery or specialty dental practice
- Experience with dental practice management software
