CRA's National EE Staffing Strategy strives to eliminate gaps for the four EE designated groups: Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and women. Where an EE gap exists at the time of appointment, EE may be used as an appointment criterion for permanent and temporary appointments over six months made through this process.
As a Mail and General Services Technician (SP-02/SP0324), you will be asked to :
- Receives, sorts, verifies, inventories, stores, issues, distributes, ships mail and materiel; and disposes of materiel.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail including counting and recording of all remittances.
- Picks up classified waste from clients and prepares for destruction.
- Dismantles, moves and erects office enclosures.
- Provides guidance to Agency clients regarding materiel handling and mail services.
- Provides basic maintenance, moving, and storage services.
- Operates materiel handling equipment (e.g. motorized and non-motorized forklifts), and uses light and heavy vehicles.

Language requirement : French Essential.
Please note this position requires an on-site presence of five (5) days per week. Virtual reporting and teleworking are not possible.
The pool established from this staffing process may be used to staff similar positions.

Preference for appointment will be given to veterans first, followed by Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Please note that this process will be used to staff positions only in Shawinigan and Québec Tax Services Offices (TSOs). If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay for any expenses related to your participation in this staffing process, as well as any relocation costs if you receive an offer of employment from this process.
Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.
Education:
The CRA's Minimum education standard webpage for SP-02 are :
- Successful completion of two years of secondary school

- CRA-approved alternatives.

Essential staffing requirements
Experience:
Please note that all applicants must meet at least one of the following experience options :
Option 1 : Currently occupying a Mail and General Services Technician (SP-02/ SP0324) position at the Canada Revenue Agency.
OR
Option 2 : No experience required.
Asset staffing requirements (Option 1 AND 2):

Experience* in handling material manually or using equipment, including but not limited to loading, moving, or unloading heavy boxes, mailbags, pallets, or furniture.

Experience is normally associated with the performance of these functions as part of the major job duties accomplished for a period of three (3) cumulative months within the last 3 years. Candidates must have the required experience at the closing date of this notice.
