Make a meaningful impact where justice happens.
As a Court Operations Supervisor, you will lead the delivery of essential court services that support the administration of justice across criminal, civil, and family courts. Operating in a fast paced, high profile environment, you will oversee daily courthouse operations, ensure services meet legislative and judicial requirements, and help keep court proceedings running smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with the judiciary, Crown Attorneys, justice partners, and the public, you will play a key role in maintaining public confidence in Ontario's court system.
This role is ideal for a hands on leader who thrives on complexity, collaboration, and service excellence. You will coach and support a diverse team, manage resources and facilities, and respond thoughtfully to operational and client issues. You will also contribute to modernization initiatives by identifying process improvements, supporting change, and using data to strengthen service delivery. As part of the Ministry of the Attorney General, you will join a values driven organization that prioritizes inclusion, leadership development, and meaningful work—offering you the opportunity to grow your career while making a tangible difference in your community.
Please note: This role is primarily based in Timmins, with occasional travel to satellite court offices to attend meetings and support operational needs.
Leadership That Makes a Difference
At its core, leadership in the Ontario Public Service (OPS) is about creating positive change for people and communities across Ontario. We're looking for leaders who are authentic, accountable, and courageous. People who bring others together, ask bold questions, and lead with purpose.
About the job
We believe great leadership starts with high standards and strong support. In the OPS, that means showing up with authenticity, acting with integrity, and having the courage to do what's right, even when it's hard.
As a leader, you'll shape a team culture that sparks innovation, supports collaboration, and champions inclusion. You'll help build a workplace that is diverse, anti-racist, and accessible, where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to thrive.
You won't be doing it alone. We invest in our leaders through mentorship, learning opportunities, and cross-ministry networks that help you grow your impact and connect with peers across the organization.
Leadership is about impact, and in this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful one. You will:
-
Lead Court Operations: Oversee the day to day delivery of court services across criminal, civil, and family matters, ensuring proceedings run efficiently and in compliance with legislation, policies, and judicial requirements.
-
Supervise and Develop Staff: Lead, coach, and support a diverse team by setting clear expectations, managing performance, and fostering an inclusive, respectful, and engaged workplace culture.
-
Manage Resources and Scheduling: Coordinate staffing, court schedules, facilities, and operational resources to meet service demands while minimizing delays and backlogs.
-
Support Judicial and Stakeholder Relations: Maintain effective working relationships with the judiciary, Crown Attorneys, legal counsel, justice partners, and the public to ensure service needs are met professionally and collaboratively.
-
Drive Service Improvement and Change: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, service quality, and the use of technology, and support the implementation of modernization and change initiatives.
-
Ensure Compliance and Issue Resolution: Interpret and apply legislation, court rules, and policies; address operational and client service issues; and manage sensitive or high profile matters with discretion and sound judgment.
Your ability to align your team's efforts with broader organizational goals will be key to your success, and to the success of the people we serve.
