For more information, please visit: https://www.alberta.ca/about-the-alberta-public-service.Treasury Board and Finance (TBF) is responsible for budget planning, financial management and economic analysis, as well as administration of tax and revenue programs. Role Responsibilities Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Operations, the Manager, Issues and Operations plays a key leadership role within the Deputy Minister's Office (DMO). This position supports the Deputy Minister and executive leadership by coordinating operational priorities, managing strategic issues, overseeing governance appointment processes, and ensuring timely, accurate information supports executive decision-making.Working in a fast-paced and highly visible environment, the position collaborates extensively with executive offices across government, ministry divisions, and external partners to ensure operational excellence, effective issues management, and alignment with government priorities.Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Operations, you will:•    Lead the coordination, tracking, and management of strategic issues, action requests, and executive correspondence for the Deputy Minister's Office.•    Develop and coordinate briefing materials, reports, strategic information products, inquiry responses, and executive decision-support materials.•    Identify emerging issues, assess risks, recommend solutions, and coordinate ministry responses to support executive decision-making.•    Monitor ministry priorities, strategic initiatives, and operational activities to ensure leadership remains informed of emerging risks and opportunities.•    Coordinate agency appointment processes by working closely with the Minister's Office, Public Agency Secretariat, and ministry divisions.•    Prepare executive materials for Deputy Minister meetings, Executive Team meetings, governance committees, and cross-ministry initiatives.•    Coordinate ministry reporting requirements, including bi-weekly reporting, executive updates, and priority tracking.•    Provide operational leadership for the Deputy Minister's Office, recommending improvements to administrative processes and workflow management.•    Build collaborative relationships with executive leadership, ministry staff, central agencies, and stakeholders across government.•    Support business continuity by providing operational coverage for the Executive Director, Strategic Operations when required.•    Lead and participate in special projects and cross-ministry initiatives supporting departmental priorities.Please click on this link to view the job description for this position.APS Competencies Competencies are behaviors that are essential to reach our goals in serving Albertans.
