ABOUT THE ROLE
TransAlta is seeking a Plant Clerk II to provide administrative and clerical support within plant operations.
Reporting to the Manager, Bow Valley, this position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of information across the site. The role supports operational teams by maintaining accurate records, coordinating administrative processes, and ensuring documentation and reporting activities align with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Working closely with plant personnel, the Plant Clerk II contributes to the overall organization, consistency, and effectiveness of day-to-day operations.
This is a full-time, safety sensitive position based out of Seebe, Alberta. Pre-employment testing will be required as a condition of employment.
This is a UUWA position covered by the terms of the Collective Agreement.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Preparing written materials such as correspondence, spreadsheets, graphs, charts, and reports in an accurate and efficient manner
- Recording and distributing minutes for various plant meetings
- Photocopying, distributing, and filing documentation for various tracking reports in SAP
- Receiving, inputting, and processing data (e.g., goods receipts (GRs), requisitions, work orders, change orders, notifications, expense claims, etc.)
- Processing, tracking, and maintaining schedules related to banked overtime, vacation entitlements, and training availability
- Accurately receiving, processing, and entering time reporting information
- Maintaining documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Maintaining and updating the master filing system and assisting with document retrieval as required
- Maintaining electronic files and backups, retrieving stored information as required, and supporting the development of indexing systems
- Developing, maintaining, and executing standardised office policies, procedures, and processes
- Working co-operatively with team members to support training and skill development, ensuring a consistent and professional knowledge base
- Performing other general clerical and administrative support duties as required
ABOUT YOU
- Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Post secondary diploma in Administration, along with basic accounting knowledge, experience, and/or related coursework, would be considered an asset
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with SAP (Time Management, Materials Management, and HR modules) is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and typing
