Make your mark while you grow your career! We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Technician to support the Earthworks Development Operations team in Calgary. Reporting to the Earthworks Manager, you will work with the Earthworks Calgary team and the Field Supervisors to support planning, tracking, and administration of requests and processes. This role serves as a key liaison between Earthworks Operations and various internal departments, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, approvals, and reporting for field activities.

  • Schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hours (Monday – Friday)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Earthworks Coordination:
    • Support the Earthworks team to interface with various Canadian Natural stakeholder groups from conception to completing a fully constructed surface location
    • Maintain centralized databases with Earthworks activities and accurate cost reporting, and identify opportunities to streamline cost control processes 
    • Support the onboarding of new Earthworks consultants
  • AFE Administration:
    • Prepare, submit, and track AFEs and monitor AFE lifecycle from initiation to close-out
    • Collaborate with finance, engineering, and project management teams to ensure AFEs are complete and compliant
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Manage site specific information such as scout estimates, reports, safety KPI’s, stakeholder information, and regulatory approvals
    • Ensure all Earthworks related requests and approvals are documented and aligned with operational timelines
    • Work with Earthworks field supervisors to generate area reports 

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Project Coordination, or a related field or related field is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in administrative or coordination roles, preferably in the energy or construction sector
  • Familiarity with Earthworks, Drilling, and Surface Land operations and an understanding of the terminology is an asset
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Power BI, Excel)
  • Hands-on experience with software tracking systems including Siteview, Wellview, Tableau, Accumap is considered an asset
