About the role
Our client, an established Edmonton known for being at the forefront of educational design, are looking for an experienced Contract Administrator to join their growing team. This is a multidiscipline firm that pride themselves on their collaborative approach, and endeavor to be culturally aware and open to new ideas on every project they work on. In addition to a strong emphasis on educational design, other project types include healthcare, seniors housing, institutional, First Nations and civic and community centres. *this is a hybrid work model, 3 days a week in office
Responsibilities: Administer construction contracts from tender through project close-out. Conduct site visits and field reviews to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with contract documents. Review and process RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, change orders, and payment applications. Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams throughout construction. Prepare site reports, meeting minutes, deficiency lists, and other contract administration documentation. Resolve construction-related issues and support project delivery in accordance with design intent, budget, schedule, and applicable codes. Maintain accurate project records and oversee project close-out, including deficiency management and warranty reviews.
Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program, CCCA designation is considered a strong asset. Experience in Contract Administration within an architectural, engineering, or construction environment. Institutional, recreational and/ or commercial project experience is required. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and construction methodologies. Knowledge of CCDC contracts, building codes, and construction administration processes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
The successful candidate will receive a base salary $80K - $110K (dependent on experience) + bonus, benefits and 3 weeks vacation + the week off over Christmas.
