As the Leader, Asset Management you will be responsible for leading a team that stewards asset information for Facilities asset management system. You will ensure asset data integrity to produce prioritized investment recommendations that will act as the basis for the activities in facility asset management including asset sustainment, lifecycle, preventative maintenance and on-demand maintenance work orders. You will be responsible for validating and uploading asset information from various sources including but not limited to the Building Condition Assessment (BCA) program, completed projects, Facility Operations, site verifications and other internal sources such as subject matter experts (SME's). Primary duties include:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and prioritization of asset management best practises.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate asset management policy and frameworks.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring and support training and development of asset management staff.
  • Create lifecycle prioritization recommendations using a data-based approach.
  • Track deferred maintenance and manage information and metrics for asset conditions.
  • Collaborate on the development of strategic asset management plans that drive asset strategy and service plans for Facilities.
  • Represent the practice of facilities asset management in corporate and external initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field with at least 8 years of experience in areas such asset management or the construction industry with an understanding of componentization for building systems.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Previous experience as a direct supervisor is an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) or a valid Graduated Driver's Licence (GDL) and the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, strong interpersonal, strategic thinking, analytical and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.

Working Conditions: This position works in an office environment but is required to make some site visits.

  • This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week

Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.
