SUPPORT SERVICES ATTENDANT (REGULAR PART TIME)
One (1) regular part time Support Services Attendant position is available within our Support Services Department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
Responsible for providing a clean and safe environment, performing room set ups, and moving furniture; prepare, assemble, deliver, serve, and store food within the patient care and cafeteria settings; porting patients within the facility and managing supply of transfer equipment; and receiving and the flow of supplies through the facility. Adhering to guidelines and standards set by Ministry of Environment, PIDAC, (Provincial Infections Diseases Advisory Committee), Government of Canada’s Food and Drug Act, and Public Health Ontario.
These positions are unionized with UNIFOR, Local 1106.
QUALIFICATIONS: Secondary School Diploma Experience in healthcare Environmental Cleaning or Food Services Department Certificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment preferred Safe Food Handling Certificate or in-process of obtaining Food Service Worker Program Certificate preferred MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annually CPR certification preferred Excellent record of dependability Ability to work well independently, as well as contribute to a team environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Strong computer proficiency Ability to carry out the physical aspects inherent in this position (see working conditions below) WHMIS Training Ability to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and all other equipment preferred Satisfactory performance and attendance required Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical demands of the job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, periodic climbing which include ladders, operation of floor machines and other equipment
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform Housekeeping work pertaining to cleaning and disinfection, collection and disposal of waste, collection and distribution of linens, and receive, prepare, store and deliver food products Patient Transfers within facility Receives Hospital deliveries, validates and delivers items to departments, and enters items into electronic supply chain database Arranges hospital shipments Maintain Broader Public Sector (BPS) supply chain regulations and segregation of duties Maintains supply levels, reviews shortages, rotates stock, and updates changes as required Other duties as assigned
HOURS OF WORK: According to department schedule including weekends on a rotating basis
SALARY: $24.51 - $25.34 per hour
