About the role

Assignment:

  • Full-time 1.0 FTE position
  • Student support and coordination focused under the direct supervision of the Director of Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or their designate
  • Position is based out of the Division Office in Ponoka, however travel to schools within the division will occur
  • Duties to commence July 1, 2026

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Strong aptitude in the application and use of technology
  • Ability to multitask while ensuring strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team-focused environment
  • Demonstrate strong time management, organization and coordination skills
  • Preference will be given to individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, and have the ability to engage in strong coaching relationships with youth.
  • Knowledge in Alberta Education Work Experience, Green Certificate, Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), Young Women in Trades & Technologies, Indigenous Youth Career Pathways, Health, Agriculture, and Information & Communications Technology (ICT).
  • Completion of post-secondary education or related work experience would be considered an asset

The following are the areas of responsibility and support:

Dual credit (during school year and Summer School)

  • The SCP will support the school based teams in the recruitment, enrolment and ongoing monitoring of dual credit courses.
  • The SCP will work with Education Services to ensure that dual credit course marks are communicated to the school for entry.

Off Campus

  • During regular school year
    • The SCP will support schools with enrolment, recruitment and ensure that proper documentation is completed.
    • The SCP will support coordination for site inspection through school based staff and contracted site inspection staff.
  • Summer School
    • The SCP will support the Director (or designate) in the coordination of Summer School off campus staff which includes documentation, coordination of summer off campus staff student portfolios and ensuring that marks are submitted to the summer school administrative team.

Partnerships

  • The SCP will support the Director (or designate) in working with our external partners. This may include but not be limited to the logistics and coordination for enrichment opportunities, off campus projects, presentations and events.

Management of CAREERS Portal

  • The SCP will work with CAREERS staff to manage the WCPS students within the portal. This includes supporting recruitment of students into the portal.

Presentation

  • The SCP will support students, school sites and CAREERS through presentations in the areas of CAREERS, Dual Credit within WCPS, Off Campus education within WCPS and any other associated topics as required.

In addition to the duties above additional duties will be assigned based on qualifications and the changing needs of the school division.
