The Granite Club is looking for a full-time Building Maintenance Retail to provide Granite gold quality service to club Members and Staff by maintaining the Granite Club’s facilities, grounds and specific equipment. Primary Responsibilities Maintain tennis courts per daily schedule. Includes grooming, lining and watering. Also maintain the general aesthetics of the courts and equipment. Report deficiencies and Member feedback. Assess tennis court conditions after rain and update sports desk with conditions and re-opening times. Operate Zamboni ice re–surfacer per daily schedule. Conduct daily and pre-use inspection. Provide skating section and building operator Ice technician with any problems with the ice condition or equipment problems. Member of the club’s primary response team for fire alarms along with Member Services. Make adjustments to the Building Automation System settings and schedule to maintain member and staff comfort. Complete daily utility meter readings Change light bulbs, cleans fixtures and lenses. Conduct weekly inspection of the club’s eye wash stations, as well as other inspections assigned. Maintain and operate swimming pool robot vacuums Daily hand vacuuming of swimming pools as required, as well as Cold Plunge maintenance. Shutdown UV systems, salt generators, Cat controllers to drain pools for annual maintenance. Erect hoarding and remove ladders for annual maintenance Maintain refrigeration and HVAC equipment. ie cleaning condenser coils/ pans, evaporator coils, belts, and door seals. General repairs i.e. Minor - plumbing, mechanical, painting and carpentry. General labour (involves heavy lifting up to 80lbs). Maintain mechanical and storage rooms. Comfortable working at heights, for example ladders, scaffold and elevated work platforms. Operate various pieces of equipment, for example tractors, RTV, snow blower, leaf blower, golf cart. Maintain club grounds as required, i.e. Snow removal, leaf blowing. Assist Management, Building Operators and Trades as required. Setup furniture and equipment for functions including dance floors, risers and stairs Snow removal and salting of driveways and paths as required (24 hour basis for emergency snow removal). Maintenance and seasonal set-up of outdoor skating rink. - clearing snow, repairs, and hand flooding. Expected to learn and retain information such as domestic and fire sprinkler valve locations, HVAC equipment locations and applications, and electrical panel locations. Assist with onsite moving of equipment and furniture Troubleshoot and service club audio visual systems/ equipment. For example, Stingray, Lutron Rogers digital cable boxes and PA system Work with the electronic work order system, closing work orders when completed or adding notes / forward to the trade that will make the repairs. in a timely manner. All other duties assigned. Required Qualifications Communicate with Facilities team and other departments concerning repairs in their areas by personal communication or by email. These items are to be recorded in the Facilities logbook. Oral and written English required. General maintenance knowledge and use of hand and small power tools required. Occasional heavy lifting. General knowledge of building trades. Able to work in a high paced environment, adapting to changes on the fly. Comfortable and competent operating various equipment. Basic Refrigeration certification (ORFA) - preferred Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays. Compensation The hourly rate for this position is $28.61.
