About the role

Overview: As part of the Department of Corporate Services, the City of Humboldt is currently seeking to fill one (1) temporary, full-time Accounts Supervisor position. The position is expected to begin immediately and run until approximately November 13th, 2026, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services or designate, the Accounts Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of the City’s accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing, and taxation functions to ensure the accurate processing of payments, billing, collections, account maintenance, and reporting. They will review invoices and payment requests for accuracy and legitimacy, monitor outstanding balances, address discrepancies, and work collaboratively with department heads and customers to resolve issues. They shall consult with the Finance Manager regarding significant variances, over expenditures, or collection concerns while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. Qualifications: Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or a related field of study. Ability to provide record keeping, administration and filing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check Compensation: This is an in-scope position under CUPE 2359 with a starting rate of pay of $31.16 per hour. Employees are eligible for the employer matched defined pension plan, annual paid vacation days, and a comprehensive health and wellness plan. General work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with an earned day off every fourth week.
