*THE OPPORTUNITY *

Royal Henley Retirement Community, located in St. Catharines, Ontario is actively seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Lifestyle Manager, the Lifestyle Assistant is responsible for assisting with the planning and delivery of lifestyle and recreational programs/activities for residents in accordance with company policies/procedures and legislative requirements.

THE SPECIFICS

  • Employment Term: Permanent
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Biweekly Hours: 75
  • Shift Times: generally Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will vary at times
  • Work Location and Arrangement: St. Catharines, ONSITE

  • Compensation: $19.81/hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the planning and facilitation of recreational activities, exercise programs and the creation of a variety of documents regarding activities and programs as required.
  • Supervise resident outings and assist with loading/unloading the bus.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Continuously follow the principles of ?good customer service? and ensure that these values are demonstrated in day-to-day practices.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with team, residents and families as well as external community resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Walking, stretching and standing on a variety of surfaces for at least 3 hours per day.
  • Lift alone, up to 30 pounds; push/pull wheeled equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Bending, stooping on a regular basis.
  • Physical exertion consistent with teaching aqua-fit and exercise classes

WHO YOU ARE

  • Post-Secondary education in recreation/leisure program at a College level of certification and/or previous related experience.
  • Fitness Certification (e.g. Can-Fit Pro) preferred.
  • Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver?s license (F) and Smart Serve are considered assets.
  • Demonstrate sound organization and English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to provide a police check with vulnerable sector screen upon hire.
  • Must be able to provide results of TB (tuberculosis) testing (2-step skin test or chest x-ray) upon hire.
  • Must be able to provide a record of vaccination for COVID-19 (minimum 2 doses) upon hire.
