We are seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team in Nisku. This is an excellent opportunity for a post-secondary student looking to gain meaningful, hands-on accounting experience while working alongside our finance and operations professionals with 15+ years in the oil and gas industry. We offer flexible scheduling around school commitments, making this an ideal role for students who are eager to build practical experience while completing their education.

What You’ll Do As part of our finance team, you will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other general accounting support.

Accounts Payable · Issue purchase orders within approved limits · Review, code, and enter vendor invoices · Match invoices to purchase orders, field tickets, packing slips, and approvals · Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors and operations personnel · Assist with payment processing

Accounts Receivable · Review field tickets for invoicing and payroll · Prepare and issue customer invoices based on field tickets and daily drilling reports · Verify billable hours, equipment usage, and third-party charges

General Accounting and Administration · Work closely with operations and field personnel to ensure timely and accurate documentation · Assist with month-end close and year-end audit preparation · Maintain organized, audit-ready accounting records · Provide general administrative and accounting support as required

What We’re Looking For · Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Accounting, Finance, or related program · Interest in building a career in accounting within the oil and gas or related industry · Basic understanding of accounting principles · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office · Strong attention to detail and organizational skills · Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively · Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Schedule · Approximately 12-18 hours per week, with the potential for increase during summer or school breaks · 3 days per week · Flexible scheduling to accommodate class schedules

Compensation · Competitive hourly wage · Overtime Eligible
