Role Summary CHARM Fertility is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and confident managing full-cycle accounting in a fast-paced, patient-centred healthcare environment.
Working closely with Senior Management, the Senior Accountant will manage full-cycle accounting processes, supporting month-end and year-end close, prepare financial reports, and assist with healthcare-related billing and reconciliations, including OHIP billing. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and providing financial information to assist management decision-making.
Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance. Complete month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, trial balances, supporting schedules, and financial reporting. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support management decision-making. Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and account balances to ensure accurate and timely financial records. Support OHIP billing- related accounting processes, including reconciliation of billings, payments, adjustments, and discrepancies. Assist with government remittances, audit preparation, tax documentation, and year-end working papers. Support payroll-related accounting as required, including reconciliation of payroll expenses, deductions and remittances etc. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, billing variances, and reconciliations in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, internal controls, and operational efficiency. Liaise with auditors, vendors, financial institutions, and other financial partners as required. Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data and sensitive information. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Education: Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA designation or CPA enrolment is considered an asset.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Accountant, preferably in a healthcare or medical clinic setting. Experience with OHIP billing process is required.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close. Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliations, and financial reporting tools.
Competencies: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and reconciliation skills, strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
