Food Bank Client Service Coordinator – Westboro Region The Westboro Region Food Bank, operating out of All Saints Anglican Church in the heart of Ottawa, is seeking a dedicated and organized Client Service Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with volunteers, clients, and community partners in a dynamic and supportive environment. Position Overview: The Client Service Coordinator manages and prepares food bank sessions, working with a dedicated team of volunteers. Clients visit once per month by appointment only. The role includes a variety of tasks related to food distribution, volunteer coordination, client registration, and funding applications. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and skilled in managing both people and processes. Key Responsibilities: Food Bank Operations: Organize and schedule food deliveries, placing weekly online orders with the Ottawa Food Bank. Coordinate the pick-up or delivery of additional groceries for Tuesday sessions. Help unpack and sort food upon delivery. Volunteer Management: Create and manage the volunteer roster. Send reminder emails to volunteers. Recruit and screen new volunteers. Client Services: Compile appointment lists for door greeters and ensure clients visit only once per month. Assist with client registration and check documentation for catchment area verification. Provide support to greeters and mediate client-related situations. Administration and Funding: Draft applications for government funding and other grants. Compile and report statistics as required. Liaise with the Ottawa Food Bank, other community groups, clergy, and church financial planners. Qualifications & Skills: Strong computer skills for managing emails, appointments, and statistics reporting. Excellent teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to manage volunteers effectively. Calm, non-anxious presence and training in non-violent conflict resolution. Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle. Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check required. Business Hours: Monday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Tuesday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Thursday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM Location: 347 Richmond Rd, Ottawa, ON K2A 0E7 Compensation: Starting at $23.00 per hour for a total of 25 hours per week.
