About the role

Position Department: University Advancement Position School: Administration Overview: The Student Digital Ambassador is the creative voice of the Office of Alumni Engagement. You will act as a "student correspondent," gathering stories, news, and media who ensures our graduates feel connected to campus, no matter how far away they live. This role is perfect for a storyteller who is passionate about social media and building a digital community. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities ● Social Media Management: Draft, proofread, and schedule engaging content for alumni and advancement accounts across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. ● Event Capture: Attend major events (Homecoming, Breakfast with Santa, Commencement) to gather "live" content, photos, and short-form video. ● Impact Reporting: Help create posts that show donors exactly how their contributions are changing student lives. ● Alumni Spotlights: Interview alumni and donors to create compelling "where are they now" features. ● Brand Voice: Ensure all digital communication aligns with the university's brand standards while maintaining a fresh, student-driven energy. Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications ● Exceptional Writing & Proofreading: Ability to write clean, grammatically correct copy. They need to be able to switch easily between a professional tone (for LinkedIn/donors) and a high-energy, engaging tone (for Instagram/students). ● Social Media Literacy: Active experience using Instagram and LinkedIn. An understanding of platform features (Stories, Reels, Carousels, and LinkedIn tagging) is essential. ● Mobile Content Creation: Comfort using a smartphone to capture high-quality, well-lit photos and stable videos under fast-paced event conditions. ● Reliability & Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work specific campus events that may fall on evenings or weekends (such as Homecoming weekend or early morning holiday events like Breakfast with Santa).
