About the role

Purpose of Position

The Product Management Specialist is responsible for providing a high level of commercial, administrative and reporting assistance to the product management team and to play a key role as liaison between the sales teams, procurement team and suppliers. The Product Management Specialist will support in driving profitability through active market sales price management and other commercial excellence activities within the product portfolio. Successful Product Management Specialists can expect follow a career path leading to other commercial roles. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Product Management Specialist Team Lead. Key Responsibilities: - Process incoming pricing requests as assigned from Salesforce - Maintain purchasing information requests (PIR’s) in SAP - Initiates and complete thorough follow ups on change requests for assigned product portfolio in MDM /MDG ensuring that priority is given to open sales orders or when there is commercial urgency. Product Management Specialist to ensure all supporting documentation has been received and executed for the prompt creation of product codes. - Negotiate and maintain support pricing (CUPS) from assigned suppliers and generate customized product pricing/quoting for new business opportunities while maximizing margin quality. - Product Management Specialists are responsible for initiating ZPC2. - Set up and maintain vendors within SAP. - Generate and distribute supplier reports. - Develop and maintain strategic value-added relationships with key (3rd tier) suppliers through sourcing products, negotiations and business reviews. - Monitor assigned customer/ portfolio profitability on an ongoing basis and initiate Sales Price Management (SPM) as required in close coordination with Regional and Industry Commercial Leadership teams. - Manage inventory of assigned products in close conjunction with procurement to achieve overall target for inventory turns, as well as minimize inventory levels of dead and extremely slow-moving stock. - Participate in supplier reviews/meetings and follow through on action items. - Other administrative support tasks as required. Job Description 2 | 2 - PM Specialist will be assigned a business portfolio such as: Solvents, Chlor Alkai, General Chemicals, Oil and Gas, Water Treatment, Blending Services, GSO, Key Accounts, DEF, Value Added Services, and 3 rd party Services - Other responsibilities that can fall under your management portfolio include: - Coordinating with LMSO’s on monthly/quarterly pricing - Set up and maintain CSP’s as assigned - Monthly reporting and billing coordination - Manages all administrative aspects to portfolio projects. - Communication with internal/external stakeholders, on customer programs and special projects. - Provides support to Business Manager and Product Manager with guidance on special projects and tasks. Skills and Abilities Required - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) - Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP would be an asset - Excellent communications skills, verbal and written - Highly organized and possesses effective time management skills - Strong communication skills Education and Experience - Post-Secondary Education; Degree/ Diploma in Business, Science or equivalent. - Previous work experience in sales (1-3 years)
