Role Description The Registered Pharmacy Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Durham Care Clinic + Pharmacy in Oshawa, ON. This role involves accurately processing and preparing prescriptions, performing technical checks as permitted, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinic policies. The technician supports daily pharmacy operations, including coordinating with prescribers, managing inventory, organizing medication storage, and assisting with workflow efficiency. In addition, the role includes providing respectful, knowledgeable customer service, responding to patient inquiries, handling billing-related tasks, and collaborating with pharmacists and other health care professionals to support safe and timely patient care. Qualifications Strong prescription processing skills, including accurate data entry, labeling, and understanding of dosage forms and directions. Foundational knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulatory standards, with experience in community or clinic-based pharmacy settings. Competence in core pharmacy technician practices, including collaborating with pharmacists and supporting medication safety procedures. Experience with inventory control, ordering, receiving, and maintaining appropriate stock levels and expiry management. Demonstrated customer service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Current registration and good standing as a Pharmacy Technician with the relevant provincial regulatory body (e.g., OCP). Proficiency with pharmacy management software and basic computer skills (e.g., dispensing systems, electronic health records). Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. CPR/First Aid certification and previous experience in a clinic–pharmacy hybrid environment are considered assets.
