Professional Development Intern, College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Primary Purpose: To provide quality technical and administrative support to the professional development portfolio in the College of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS), while contributing to an efficient and collaborative work environment during the period of internship. Nature of Work: Reporting to the Professional Development Specialist, the PD Intern will be responsible for supporting various professional development projects including graduate mentorship and internship programs for graduate students. The PD intern will receive guidance, coaching, training and mentoring during the period of internship. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders Proficient in the use of various computer applications Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Ability to prioritize and support multiple PD projects simultaneously Duties & Responsibilities Support the PD Specialist in conducting needs assessments, environmental scans, as well as program designs for graduate students and postdocs. Participate in the planning and implementation of PD programs. Assist in the preparation and follow up of training and development initiatives and programs for graduate students and postdocs. Provide administrative support to the professional development function for graduate students & postdoctoral scholars. Assist with organizing stakeholder collaborations with internal and external partners. Where a graduate student is appointed to this position, it will be in-scope of PSAC.
