Join The West Coast Fishing Club Team! Location: Richmond B.C., Canada Position: We are seeking a Senior Accountant. This is a fixed term (contract to cover maternity leave of 12-15 months with potential for extension), full-time position based out of our Richmond, BC head office. About Us: The West Coast Fishing Club operates two luxury saltwater fishing lodges in Haida Gwaii, offering unparalleled fishing experiences and 5-star accommodations against the stunning backdrop of British Columbia's rugged West Coast. Our dedication to excellence, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality have made us a world-class destination for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts alike Responsibilities: The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and providing support to the Finance team as needed. The successful candidate will: Perform month-end duties which include preparing monthly journal entries (accruals and adjusting entries) and balance sheet account reconciliations Reconcile bank accounts monthly Complete government filing requirements such as GST and PST returns Manage accounts receivable aging, invoicing, cash receipts and other accounts receivable related tasks Ensures accounts payable invoices and expense claims are accurate, properly coded and authorized for payment. Prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis including managing employee expense reports and ROE processing, and compliance with payroll remittances including WorkSafe BC reporting Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including intercompany, consolidations and elimination entries Assist the Controller with the year-end review engagement Provide general support to the Controller and prepare various ad-hoc reports and duties in a timely and accurate manner Qualifications: CPA designation is preferred, however not required with appropriate experience 3 - 5 years of experience of full cycle accounting Strong accounting and analytical skills Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Benefits Details: Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus Support and payment of annual CPA membership dues and Professional Development Extended Healthcare Benefits Dental Benefits We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only qualified candidates will be contacted.
