MacEwan University is seeking a Student Recruiter - Domestic for a full-time continuing opportunity with the Office of the University Registrar (OUR).

The Student Recruiter – Domestic supports MacEwan University's enrolment management objectives by planning, coordinating, and delivering recruitment initiatives that attract and engage prospective students. You will represent the University to prospective students, families, schools, post-secondary institutions, and community organizations, providing information on academic programs, admissions, and student services. Through relationship building, presentations, outreach, and recruitment planning, you will contribute to achieving institutional enrolment goals.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and implementing recruitment activities targeting future students in high schools, post-secondary, and other potential communities through an identified and targeted geographic region(s), and based on historical application/acceptance/enrolment data, in collaboration with the Supervisor; Delivering engaging recruitment presentations, workshops, and information sessions that communicate accurate information about academic programs, admissions, student services, and the student experience; Preparing regular reports on recruitment activities, outcomes, and progress toward recruitment objectives; Arranging for travel and lodging for university recruitment and liaison activities; Collaborating with OUR marketing and communications personnel on the development of recruitment-related marketing and communications activities and providing knowledge and insight where appropriate; Maintaining current knowledge of the University's programs and services, academic and administrative policies and procedures, and admission requirements; Researching student recruitment and orientation best practices, trends, and issues, and benchmark practices across post-secondary institutions; and Monitoring competitor institutions to remain informed of recruitment strategies, programs, and services.

Skills

You will have:

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; The ability to deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and information sessions to diverse audiences, both in large group settings and one-on-one; The ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with prospective students, families, school counsellors, post-secondary partners, community organizations, and internal stakeholders; Knowledge of the Alberta secondary and post-secondary education systems, undergraduate programs, and admission requirements; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and effectively use student information systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and other recruitment technologies; Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands; Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; The ability to analyze recruitment data and use information to inform planning and decision-making; Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; Demonstrated event planning and project coordination skills; The ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team while contributing positively to shared objectives; Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and cultural awareness when interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds; Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service and a positive prospective student experience; and Genuine interest in supporting prospective students in exploring post-secondary education opportunities.

Qualifications

A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related field. A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in student recruitment, admissions, liaison, public relations, marketing, customer service, student advising, or a closely related field. Experience planning and delivering presentations to diverse audiences, building collaborative relationships with external stakeholders, coordinating outreach or recruitment activities, and managing multiple competing priorities. Experience working in a post-secondary environment and experience using a CRM system would be considered assets. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Position Requirements

The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's licence (or provincial equivalent), provide a satisfactory driver's abstract annually, and have access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle. The position requires frequent travel within Alberta and to other provinces, including overnight stays, as well as occasional evening and weekend work. The role also involves physical activities such as lifting and transporting recruitment materials, bending, and extended periods of driving.
