DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Staffing Clerk is responsible for coordinating the overall scheduling and staffing of employees. Other responsibilities include: populating and maintaining electronic schedules and related data; communicating with the appropriate Patient Care Managers regarding staffing issues or concerns; answering telephone inquiries, directing calls, taking accurate messages, and forwarding them to the appropriate personnel; and performing a wide range of clerical duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the Centralized Staffing Office.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma in Office Admin, Business Admin, HR or other related post secondary education or equivalent combination of education and recent and related experience;

Recent experience (minimum two years) in a staff scheduling role in a high volume unionized environment;

Proven proficiency in UKG including staff scheduling and payroll, as well as scheduling and shift call-out systems;

Experience with Andgo, including shift-offering workflows and automation features;

In-depth knowledge and understanding of the CUPE, ONA and OPSEU collective agreements;

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word at a basic level (tested);

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level (tested);

Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools, including Forms and Lists;

Proven sound knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures;

Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment;

Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with managers, staff, and colleagues through routine staffing strategy meetings;

Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills with a solution-focused approach;

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences while maintaining professionalism;

Effective organization, prioritization and time-management skills, with a commitment to accountability, follow-through, and ensuring consistent service delivery;
