The Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) acts as a liaison between students and faculty in the implementation of disability-related accommodations and services for SFU Students. CAL is responsible for upholding SFU's General Policy 26 ("Accessibility for Students with Disabilities") and also advocates on issues related to diversity, educational equity, and academic achievement. The CAL Accessible Exams team has key student-facing and instructor-facing responsibilities to ensure that SFU upholds its legal obligation to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities. The team administers over 10,000 unique accommodated exams per year and works collaboratively with Disability Access Advisors and Exam Assistants to create an inclusive environment during the accommodated exam-writing experience. Our team values trust, open communication, creative problem-solving, and shares a commitment to improving the student experience.

We are looking for a resourceful, energetic and highly organized individual who is a natural leader and is passionate about equity for students with disabilities. Our ideal candidate will have solid competencies in organization, priority-setting, and problem-solving in a consistently high-output environment. They will be able to communicate with vulnerable, diverse populations using compassion, confidence and sensitivity, and will proactively engage with instructors regarding exam details. We offer a dynamic and multifaceted work environment that is very team-based, and where no two days are the same.
Qualifications
Two-year Diploma in Business or Administrative Management or related field, and four years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Good knowledge of and sensitivity to dealing with vulnerable populations. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidential records with a high degree of accuracy. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to handle competing requests from multiple sources and to regularly interact with individuals who may be experiencing difficulties. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
