About the role

Peace River School Division is seeking a highly motivated Full-Time (1.0 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant at Red Earth Creek School to provide targeted literacy and numeracy support to small groups of students in Grades 1-3, as well as support our ECS programming. The position will commence on August 27, 2026 and continue to June 28, 2027.

Red Earth Creek School is situated in the hamlet of Red Earth Creek, located about 162 kms from Peace River. This school services student in grade K-12 and supports a commitment to academics and various extra-curricular programs.

Qualifications

Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience Experience working directly with young children (Grades K-3 preferred) Experience and understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy concepts (e.g. phonics, phonological awareness, early number sense)

Skills

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and district office Program Coordinators A strong desire to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work independently. The ability to work independently, manage small groups effectively, and follow structured intervention plans. High level of commitment, accountability, and reliability.

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the

Rate Of Pay

$22.59 to $28.02 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
