About the role
As an Advisor, Industrial and Technological Benefits will transform contractual obligations into powerful investments in Canadian industry. You’ll collaborate with teams, suppliers, and federal stakeholders to maximize the national economic impact of Davie’s projects.
More specifically, you will:
- Serve as the internal and external expert on ITB and VP policies for major shipbuilding and ship repair programs.
- Develop and implement ITB achievement strategies for assigned programs, including the drafting of ITB and VP management plans for bid submissions.
- Support the sourcing of Canadian suppliers and provide them with guidance on ITB policy compliance.
- Assist in contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors with respect to ITB commitments.
- Identify and evaluate indirect transactions to be presented to senior management for investment consideration.
- Liaise with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) to develop new qualifying ITB and VP transactions.
- Manage relationships with eligible parties to support successful fulfillment of their ITB and VP obligations.
- Prepare reports for internal use or submission to ISED and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Davie’s internal ITB processes.
- Travel occasionally within Canada to attend industry events or supplier meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ experience in ITB or VP management, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the Government of Canada’s ITB and VP policies.
- Experience in the maritime or defence sector (an asset).
- Full bilingualism in English and French (essential).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and strong organizational skills.
- Proven autonomy and ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to identify new Canadian supply sources for shipbuilding components, materials, and technologies.
