Position Overview

Join EDL Building Solutions as a Service Coordinator and help keep our operations running at a high level of excellence. You will be responsible for coordinating service calls, scheduling, dispatching technicians, generating billing-related documents, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role is essential to ensuring that technicians are set up for success, customers receive timely service, and the entire service department operates with precision and clarity.

This position is based in Edmonton, AB.

What You’ll Do

Receive incoming customer calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel Schedule and dispatch technicians to service calls, preventative maintenance visits, and project support activities Maintain and update the dispatch board, ensuring technicians are scheduled efficiently and work orders are assigned in advance whenever possible Coordinate preventative maintenance agreements, ensuring contract visits are scheduled, completed on time, and properly documented Monitor preventative maintenance contract performance, labor utilization, material costs, and completion status Generate and process purchase orders, ensuring accurate documentation and approvals Source, order, and track parts, materials, and equipment required for service operations Coordinate with suppliers, technicians, and customers regarding material availability, delivery schedules, and job requirements Maintain clear communication with technicians to ensure customer expectations, job scope, and scheduling requirements are met Respond to customer inquiries and resolve service-related concerns in a professional and timely manner Schedule, update, and confirm customer requests, work statuses, and service appointments Review work orders for completeness and accuracy to support billing, payroll, and operational reporting Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and service documentation Prepare and distribute weekly on-call schedules, vehicle inspection forms, and other service department communications Generate service department reports and assist in tracking key operational performance indicators Collaborate closely with the Service Manager to identify opportunities for operational improvement, efficiency gains, and enhanced customer service Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and adherence to company policies and ethical standards

What You Bring

Minimum 2 years of experience in dispatching, coordination, or operations (HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical or related service industry preferred) Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite Clear and professional communication skills with both technicians and customers Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy Experience in a service-based, trade industry is an asset

Working Conditions

This position is primarily office-based Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm with 1 hour lunch break Occasional light lifting may be required Requires extended periods of sitting and computer use
