We're looking for a PR Account Coordinator to join our growing team and support media relations, content development, and client account management across a portfolio of innovative clients.
About the Role
This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their public relations career who is eager to learn, grow, and gain hands-on agency experience.
As a PR Account Coordinator, you'll support multiple client accounts across B2B technology, SaaS, construction technology, insurance, and other innovation-focused industries. You'll work closely with Account Managers and senior team members to execute media relations campaigns, develop content, track results, and help keep client programs running smoothly.
This role is designed for someone looking to build a long-term career in public relations. You'll receive hands-on mentorship, direct exposure to client work, and opportunities to develop skills across media relations, content creation, account management, and strategic communications.
This is a remote role, ideally based in the Greater Toronto Area, with occasional in-person collaboration.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Media Relations Support Research and build targeted media lists across a variety of industries Monitor media opportunities, journalist activity, and industry trends Assist with media outreach and follow-up Track and report on earned media placements Support research for awards, speaking opportunities, podcasts, and thought leadership initiatives Help identify story angles and newsworthy opportunities for clients
Content Development Draft media pitches, press releases, award submissions, bylined articles, and other communications materials Assist with research and content development for thought leadership programs Proofread and edit client-facing content Support social media and content marketing initiatives as needed
Account Coordination Prepare meeting agendas, notes, action items, and status updates Maintain project trackers, editorial calendars, and reporting documents Support client deliverables and ensure deadlines are met Coordinate across internal team members to keep projects moving efficiently Assist with monthly reporting and program measurement
Research & Administration Conduct industry, competitor, and media research Maintain media databases and journalist contact lists Track editorial calendars, speaking opportunities, and industry awards Support agency operations and special projects as needed
What We're Looking For Previous PR agency internship experience or experience in an Account Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, or similar role required Post-secondary education in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is an asset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously Curious about technology, startups, business, and innovation Strong research skills and eagerness to learn media relations Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms is considered an asset Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment Based in or near the Greater Toronto Area and available during Eastern Time business hours
