Job Description As a Pier Solutions project coordinator/junior estimator, you are tasked with managing construction projects and providing technical services. This is the perfect job for you if you strive to merge technical engineering and practical construction services. Your responsibilities may include the following: Supporting all aspects of construction work including: developing proposals for various contract models; preparing estimates for quoted and tendered work; provide field technical support to crews when needed; light on-site labour to assist construction crews; managing schedules, materials, and subcontractors; aiding in job cost tracking; preparing and submitting environmental management plans; supporting safety coordinator in completing daily and project specific safety requirements, including site safety plans and safe work procedures; Reporting on project progress, offering viable solutions and opportunities as they arise Providing technical services, including load ratings, site layouts, surveying, as well as other design services Writing technical reports, construction deliverables, and standard contracts including subcontractor agreement forms, purchase orders, and CCDC contracts Responsibilities will be added over time. There will be opportunities for professional growth into a Project Manager or another construction leadership position.
Education and Experience Civil tech diploma or civil engineering degree is strongly preferred, or a combination of education and experience Construction or field experience is an asset, but not required
Skills and Competencies Exceptional planning and scheduling skills Effectively communicate with trades, contractors, owners, consultants and internal technical/design team Technical construction ability and willingness to assist with construction tasks Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and commitment to well-constructed projects Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Class 5 license
