Position Information
This is a corporate positon with campus base at the Civic.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, evenings and nights, including weekends and holiday, 12 hours shift.

Basic Requirements
One-year college diploma; Three (3) years of dispatch experience in a Security or Law Enforcement capacity, or a relevant position; Well-developed keyboarding skills with a minimum speed of 45 words per minute (WPM); Data entry 4000 kph; Experience in customer service; Experience with MS Office, Word, Access & Excel; Knowledge of dispatch programs such as Perspective or other dispatching software; Knowledge of guidelines for emergency situations; Knowledge of communication equipment; Strong communication skills, spoken and written, with ability to understand and carry out oral/written instructions and procedures; Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the security and TOH team; Team player who can also work independently; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; Ability to work effectively in a team environment within a 24/7-shift operation; Punctual, reliable and dependable; Must be available to work shift work (rotation of days, nights, weekends & holidays); Strong multi-tasking skills used to organize and prioritize numerous simultaneous calls; Ability to work under pressure; able to think, speak, multitask, and act clearly and efficiently in emergency situations; Strong cognitive and psychomotor skills in the areas of reading, spelling, speech, written communication, listening and basic computer skills; Ability to react quickly, logically, efficiently, and calmly in emergency situations with a strong interpersonal, decision making and problem-solving skills; Sound judgment and critical thinking skills; Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access; Able to manage a two-way radio dispatch equipment, telephone and operate standard office equipment; Must be eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with radio dispatch equipment; One-year college diploma in Emergency and Call Centre Communications, Emergency Services Fundamentals, or a related program Experience working with public safety and emergency services (such as Fire or Police Services); Security License; Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
