TRAXX Coachlines Ltd. is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This role requires excellent leadership, problem solving, and professionalism in a culture of safety while ensuring compliance with company programs and procedures, provincial and federal regulations, and client policies. The Dispatcher supports Motorcoach Operators, trip activities, and customer itineraries to help ensure TRAXX safely delivers on and exceeds customers’ expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day schedule of operators and the fleet, allocating the appropriate type of coach for each trip.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle locations, driver assignments, and transportation schedules.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, assess and support operator inquiries, and provide relevant trip information.
- Collaborate with other departments to address transportation operations issues, including maintenance and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, including safety guidelines and transportation laws.
- Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to transportation activities, including inspections, logs, and incident reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in transportation logistics.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of dispatching experience within the transportation industry, preferably working with motorcoaches or tourism.
- Effective decision making, problem solving, planning, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, team-oriented, and customer-focused skills.
- Good working knowledge of Western Canada.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of transportation software, such as Coach Manager, is an asset.
- Experience in the truck or highway bus transportation industry is an asset.
Working Conditions & Schedule
- Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
