About the Role
The Director’s Confidential Assistant provides high‑level, confidential administrative and governance support to the Director and standing and ad‑hoc committees in the School of Communication. This role is central to the effective operation of the School, managing the Director’s calendar, correspondence, records, and reports, and responding to inquiries on the Director’s behalf with professionalism and discretion. The position supports key academic and administrative committees—including Tenure and Promotion, Director’s Advisory, and Curriculum Development—by coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and materials, recording minutes, and maintaining accurate confidential records. Working closely with the School Programs Assistant, the role also contributes to front‑line service support. This position supports academic excellence, good governance, and collaborative decision‑making within a collegial and respectful team environment.

They demonstrate excellent judgment, strong communication and writing skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with tact and integrity. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to balance competing priorities, and confidence working independently while collaborating closely with a collegial team. The successful candidate is proactive, adaptable, and committed to providing high‑quality administrative and governance support that enables effective decision‑making and fosters a respectful, inclusive workplace.
