Job Title: BOOKKEEPER
Location: St. Eugene Parish, Hamilton
Reports To: Parish Priest
Employment Type: Part-Time, 5-8 hours/week (approx.)
Position Summary
St. Eugene Parish in Hamilton is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper, approximately 5–8 hours per week, to support smooth parish operations by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Reporting to the Parish Priest, this position offers a competitive rate of pay and requires a commitment to work flexible hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibility for accounting and bookkeeping functions, including payroll and ensuring the maintenance of up to date, accurate records. Prepares monthly and annual financial statements with supporting analysis to meet Government and Chancery requirements. Inputs parishioner’s financial contributions, prepares annual tax receipts, and oversees deposits. Updates Parish records as needed. Administers the employee benefit programs for Parish staff. Complete other tasks/duties as needed in the Parish.
Qualifications
College diploma in accounting/bookkeeping 3-5 years of relevant experience Knowledge of MS Office and QuickBooks Strong computer skills Detail-oriented and highly organized; committed to accuracy Effective communication skills
