About the role
Our Procurement group is currently looking to add a Supplier Contracts Specialist to our growing team, based in Calgary, AB.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, we are seeking an experienced and commercially driven procurement professional to lead a focused initiative aimed at maximizing commercial value across Valard's vendor base. This role will review total vendor spend, identify high-spend vendors, and negotiate agreements that deliver preferred pricing, volume discounts, annual rebates, and other commercial incentives that benefit Valard's operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review total vendor spend across categories to identify high-spend vendors and priority negotiation targets
- Lead outreach and negotiations with key vendors to establish preferred vendor agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), volume-based pricing, rebate structures, and other commercial incentives
- Develop and maintain a centralized contract and incentive directory tracking agreements in place, incentive terms, and contract validity dates
- Develop a clear execution plan at the outset of the engagement outlining approach, priorities, and timelines
- Provide regular progress reports to leadership on negotiation activity, agreements executed, and value delivered
- Work independently to source the information needed to execute
Requirements

Post-Secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field

an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management

Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements (including MSAs and rebate or incentive programs)

Strong understanding of contract structure and commercial terms
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- Experience in construction, EPC, utilities, or industrial environments
- Supply Chain Management (SCM) designation or equivalent
- Familiarity with spend analytics tools or procurement platforms
