For more information, visit www.snpolytechnic.com JOB PURPOSE The Clinical Skills and Simulation Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for the effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Practical Nursing (PN) and Personal Support Worker (PSW) clinical skills laboratory and simulation environments. The position ensures that laboratory, simulation, equipment, technology, and supply resources are available, functional, current, and aligned with curriculum requirements to support high-quality student learning experiences. Working collaboratively with faculty, academic partners, Information Services, and external vendors, the incumbent coordinates laboratory and simulation activities, manages specialized equipment and inventory, supports student skill development through supervised practice opportunities, and maintains simulation technologies and learning environments. The position contributes to the delivery of safe, consistent, and quality educational experiences that support student success. The Coordinator is required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff, students, stakeholders, and the community; contributing to a culturally supportive teaching, learning and work environment consistent with Hodinǫshǫ:nih/Rotinonhson:ni values of Ga’nigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio (Respect and the Good Mind). KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Clinical Skills Lab Operations 20% Coordinates the day-to-day operation of the clinical skills laboratory to ensure a safe, organized, and fully functional learning environment. Maintains inventory of disposable and non-disposable supplies, equipment, and teaching resources. Orders, receives, tracks, stores, and replenishes inventory; monitors equipment condition and lifecycle requirements; coordinates repairs, servicing, and replacement of laboratory equipment and manikins; Ensures compliance with health and safety standards and infection prevention practices. Other related duties, as required

Simulation Coordination and Technical Support 25% Plans, prepares, sets up, operates, and supports simulation activities for the PN and PSW programs. Maintains simulation software, audiovisual systems, manikins, and associated technologies; troubleshoots technical issues; collaborates with IT services and vendors to resolve equipment and software concerns; Tests and updates simulation scenarios and equipment to ensure operational readiness and alignment with curriculum requirements. Other related duties, as required

Laboratory and Student Practice Support 30% Coordinates and prepares laboratories for scheduled classes and learning activities. Oversees open practice lab sessions and supports students completing missed or make-up laboratory requirements. Provides guidance within a non-instructional framework by directing students to appropriate learning resources, checklists, protocols, or course materials when skill performance concerns are identified. Monitors student adherence to laboratory safety, equipment use, and established procedures Other related duties, as required

Program Collaboration and Curriculum Alignment 15% Collaborates with faculty, program coordinators, and academic partners to ensure laboratory and simulation resources support course outcomes and assessment requirements. Liaises with Mohawk College regarding curriculum updates, simulation activities, skills requirements, equipment standards, and supply lists. Participates in planning discussions related to laboratory improvements, new technologies, and evolving clinical practice standards. Other related duties, as required

Vendor, Stakeholder, and Resource Coordination 5% Researches and evaluates new equipment, simulation technologies, and instructional resources. Obtain quotations, product information, and technical specifications from vendors. Coordinates equipment maintenance, warranty claims, repairs, and service agreements. Maintains relationships with suppliers and external service providers to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement and support. Other related duties, as required

Administration, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement 5% Maintains records related to inventory, equipment maintenance, simulation activities, safety inspections, and resource utilization. Develops and updates standard operating procedures, equipment manuals, and laboratory documentation. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, student access, resource utilization, and simulation effectiveness. Other related duties, as required EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE

Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of one to two academic year(s) in Practical Nursing. Must be in good standing with CNO as a Registered Practical Nurse (or other nursing designation – RN or NP). EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / CULTURE AND LANGUAGE EXPERTISE

Over 5 years and including 7 years experience as an RPN in either clinical or education contexts. Prior experience working for an Indigenous organization is preferred. Criminal Record Check

The successful candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Background Check – Vulnerable Sector Screening that is satisfactory to Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) prior to the first day of work at Six Nations Polytechnic, and an Offence Declaration that is satisfactory to SNP by their first day of employment at Six Nations Polytechnic. POSITION TYPE: New Position POSITION CLOSING DATE: August 18th, 2026 JOB TYPE: Contract, Part-time SCHEDULE: up to 30 hrs Monday-Friday WORK MODEL: Onsite PAY BAND: 5; Core range $28.93-$33.90. The target hiring salary for this position is minimum (Step 1) up to 45% of the pay band. Considerations for new hire step placements include experiential knowledge and/or language and cultural expertise.
